The body of my work primarily consists of figure paintings and drawings through a variety of mixed media – oil, acrylic, charcoal, pastel and pen. A major theme in my art is the exploration of multiple interpretations of both the psychological and physical aspects of my subjects. Specifically in the “Chemotherapy Series” I sought to express both resilience and the ‘beauty of surrender’ as part of the chemotherapy process for female cancer patients. In the majority of my nude figure studies and self portraits I chose to compose each figure in solitude, detached from a representational setting, expressing a sense of bareness in both the figure and its environment.
I was born in Eugene and after recently receiving a Bachelor of Art at the University of Oregon, I moved to Corvallis. Ultimately my goal as an artist is to be involved with organizations and events devoted to helping others through donation of either my art or time. If I can help by donating art to an organization or cause, or if you would like a commissioned piece of art please let us know.
